Why Chandrayaan- 2 become a challenge for scientists?

Chandrayaan -2  is launching to study the different geographical and environmental changes on moon. We are not aware of the conditions on moon thoroughly till now. But the question is the equipment we are sending to moon can withstand the geo-physical and environmental conditions and work effectively? This became a great challenge to our scientists of ISRO.They conducted  many experiments and tests to the Landers  and Rovers by creating artificial  and exact acclimatize atmosphere and environment on earth and studied the situations that have to deal with and observed about how to equip Chandrayaan to face the challenge.



The main challenge is how to land safely on the destination in space travelling?

ISRO has exercised more on this prospect to land Chandrayaan on moon safely. Creating the exact conditions of moon on earth they conducted numerous tests of orbital, Lander and Rover that are hoax.

Gravity is less by 6 times to earth on moon:

The gravitational force is less on moon. And air is almost nil. So it became difficult to land the satellite on moon. They bombard with moon breaking into pieces. To avoid this danger, they send the instruments in a balloon capsules and drop them on moon. So that the balloon can bounce to some distance and stop. But in this procedure also some damage is there. The machinery gets spoiled and failed the mission. So, for Chandrayaan using advanced technology they created mini rockets called Throttle Able Engines, which burns on opposite direction and tested them in ISRO propellation centre and observed their functionality. Engines are made to move on both sides cross wise and vertically to dodge the problems that arise at the last moments. Out of 47 efforts 27 are failed.

According to the situations Chandrayaan can took decision on its own

We can monitor the landing place of Landers and Rover on  moon but the decision of where to land is taken by itself. For this they have arranges hundreds of sensors in it. They calculate the Hight and speed. To test the sensors, they have created artificial moon surface and fixed them to aeroplanes. They worked efficiently.

Moon’s gravity is very less by six times to earth. So, the Rovers that we are sending may weigh less there and arises the question of its work efficiency. They tested this by tying a balloon to the Rovers. The balloon pulled the weight of Rover to some extent. And then tested its working and satisfied.

Dust particles:




Moon surface is filled with dirt with minute dirt particles. They are too small as they enter in to the equipment spoiling it. Scientists made dirt by powdering some rocks and made the Rovers to work on the dirt and customize its efficiency.

By conducting many tests to Chandrayaan Scientists also learn many new things and keep on altering its design many a time. They changed its legs when find cracks in it ultimately increased its wright by 600kgs. So, again they must re-design the rocket to a bigger one. So, they are terming it to Chandrayasn3 rather Chandrayaan-2.

MOON’S colloquy:

From earth we can see only one side of the moon. Because moon takes 27.3 days to revolve around itself and as well as revolve round the earth. The visible side of moon is called Near side and the other side is called Far side.

Compared to moon earth reflects light more. So, we can read books by sitting on moon in the light that reflected by earth.

The size of moon is only 27% of earth and is a natural satellite to earth. No other planet has natural satellite in solar system. That is why moon had great effect on earth.
